Master’s of Science in Occupational Therapy with Concentration in Pediatrics, mentored by Dr. Christine Berg. Experience performing several pediatric assessments.  Involved in study on the Late Effects of childhood cancer and thus proficient interviewing skills with both children and parents.

Au-Pair America:  Robert and Shari Singer, Cleveland, Ohio - May 1998-June 1999

Au-pair (Live in Nanny).   Responsibilities included caring for (feeding, dressing, bathing), entertaining and disciplining a 3 year old little girl and a newborn baby boy, from 7-6pm while the parents were at work.                                                                                          

 

Montessori Community School, Newark, OH - September 2001-December 2001

Volunteer Child Care Assistant at Montessori Community School. Responsibilities here included playing with children, giving them attention and assisting them when needed as well as discipline. 

                             

Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, OH - October 2003

Clinical Rotation with adults in Acute Inpatient Rehab as well as children in outpatient pediatric treatment, primarily with diagnosis of Autism.                                                                                        

 

UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, Los Angeles, CA – October 2004

Clinical Rotation dealing with inpatient pediatric mental health population.  Responsibilities included planning and implementation of a treatment session and interaction with the children, as well as observation of initial evaluations, assessments, treatment sessions, and team meetings.                                                               

 

Saint Louis Children’s Hospital, St. Louis, MO – January-April 2005

Clinical Rotation in the NICU population.  Responsibilities included observation of infant massage, positioning, graded handling, parent education, team meetings, and some hands on with infant massage and graded handling.                                                                            

 

Cedars Sinai Medical Centre, Los Angeles, CA – July-September 2005

Clinical Rotation dealing with acute adult population with wide range of diagnoses.  Responsibilities included planning, implementation and documentation of individualized hospital based treatment sessions, caregiver training sessions as well as being involved in the referral process for continuum of care.  Additional responsibilities included collaboration with other health professionals such as physical therapists, speech therapists, social workers, nurses and doctors and attendance and participation in grand rounds meetings.  Some final responsibilities included a case study presentation and a final educational in-service on a topic of my choice.                                                              

 

Therapy West Inc. & Play Studio, Los Angeles, CA – September-December 2005

Clinical Rotation in outpatient setting dealing with a pediatric population with a wide variety of disgnoses.  Responsibilities included being involved in individual clinic based treatments, a group early intervention program known as “Infant Specialized Play Program” as well as school based OT.  Responsibilities in these three areas included planning of treatment sessions, implementation, documentation and interaction and feedback to parents regarding progress of children.  Additional responsibilities included collaboration with physical therapists, teachers, and aides as well as administration of 6 pediatric assessments, preparation of 5 OT reports, including evaluation report and progress reports, a case presentation and development of an adaptive piece of equipment for a child on my caseload.  Final caseload consisted of 25 intervention hours a week.
